UAP (Unified Access Platform)

ActiveOpenHW Explorer editorial assessment

UAP, the European Unified RISC-V IP Access Platform, is a catalogue for discovering hardware and software assets produced by European RISC-V research programs such as TRISTAN and ISOLDE. It presents maturity, usability, licensing, and integration context, then directs users to the underlying OpenHW GitHub repositories and applicable mirrors rather than hosting one monolithic IP block. The platform is already useful as a discovery layer, but several monitoring, interoperability, and governance features remain on a progressive roadmap.

At a glance

  • Artifact type: catalogue and documentation platform, not a single RTL implementation
  • Scope: hardware and software RISC-V assets from European projects including TRISTAN and ISOLDE
  • Information model: maturity, usability, licensing, and integration-workflow context
  • Delivery: static access page linking to OpenHW GitHub repositories and applicable European GitLab mirrors
  • Maturity: useful discovery layer today, with additional monitoring, interoperability, and governance features still planned
  • Access boundary: catalogue inclusion does not guarantee that every linked asset is openly downloadable; check each asset's own access terms and license

CORE-V Cores (Family Landing)

core-v-cores is the authoritative family map for OpenHW's CORE-V processors. Rather than containing processor RTL, it compares the CVA6, CVW, CVE4, CVE2, and CVA5 families, links to their implementation repositories, and records naming rules, release and RTL-freeze policy, TRL progress, and architectural identity values. Newcomers should use it to understand how the cores relate before choosing a repository; engineers should use its release table to distinguish a family roadmap from the exact maturity of a particular configuration.
